Archery is a national sport of Bhutan.
Competitions are held very often and we were fortunate to witness one.
The National Institute for Zorig Chusum (The Painting School)
The institute operates under the auspices of the National Technical Training Institute and offers a six-year course that provides instruction in many of Bhutan’s traditional arts and culture – a way of maintaining tradition and culture.
At the archery range
Aiming hard!
Range is 140m, much longer than the Olympic standard
When an arrow hits the target, team members
cheer and dance to celebrate. When the archer
misses the target, the opponent would jeer.
The National Institute for Zorig Chusum
The institute offers courses on embroidery…
Weaving…
Clay modelling…
Wood carving and many others
Full of concentration
National Library
It was once the largest book in the world
Books are printed or written on long strips
of hand-made paper and wrapped in silken cloth.

Sending a postcard to myself!
