While other countries in the world talk about Gross National Product, Bhutan (perhaps the only country in the world) practises Gross National Happiness.
The term was coined by the country’s fourth king, King Jigme Singye Wangchuck in 1972 when he acceded to the throne upon the death of his father, the third king.
Do they succeed in realising what they hope to achieve? I do not really know. But look at the smiles and the expressions of these people, does it tell you anything?
